OK! A very important lesson was learned here: Do NOT go searching for this cache at around 10 pm!
I had been out finding the nearby graveyard cache first (yes, also crazy) so the time was already around 10 o'clock when I pulled up to the closed border. I got out of my car and looked around. It looked very closed down. There were a single light in the building. When I got into my again car I noticed a figure in the window but thought nothing of it. I drove back the 100 or so meters to where the cache was hidden, got out, and went for the cache with my headlight on.
After finding the cache and exchanging TBs I got back to my car. I hadn't gotten more than a few hundred meters before a land rover stopped 50 meters ahead of me. It turned out to be a Polish border patrol. The two heavily armed, very military looking guys came up to my car and started asking me questions (in Polish of course). I answered in English and got some English in return. I tried explaining where I came from and where I was going (nothing about geocaching). They asked for licence and registration papers and looked in the trunk. After a few minutes they seemed satisfied and let me go. Lucky for me they seemed very nice...
On my way home I even saw a few foxes, a boar, a deer, and a mouse. All in all a very eventful evening! FP for the whole experience.
