W książce Agaty Ciastoń na temat autostrady możemy znaleźć ciekawy fragment dotyczący jej projektowania w latach 30 XX wieku. Projektanci zamierzali wybudować autostradę z kolorowych płyt, miały to być odcienie zielonego, a dokładnie „łąkowa zieleń”. Ot taka zielona wstęga miała połączyć Wrocław z Berlinem. Czy chodziło o maskowanie, czy o wtapianie się w krajobraz?
