[EN] About the place:
The Butcheries of Wrocław – a magical place in the centre of Wrocław.
It’s one of the most visited places by tourists and a destination of many walks of Wrocław citizens.
The street is situated among the beautiful avenues in the same city centre. The look and the atmosphere of this place is very similar to Tuscany. While you stroll under the roofs and next to amazing town houses you can feel the spirit of Renaissance.
In Medieval times people used to sell meat here – at the beginning there were two rows of butcheries in the street. But after some time the houses were adopted as living places or art galleries. In XIX century some of the locals were transformed into shops. During WW II (the Siege of Wrocław) the Butcheries were in the firing line and 12 of 24 houses were destroyed. Fortunately in 1965-1968 they were rebuilt.
Some time ago the town council decided to renovate the street and now the street looks as in its best times. Nowadays you can find art galleries here and workshops.
Interesting facts:
- The word Jatka (butchery in polish) was to mean “a stall”
- In 1978 a plate was exposed with an equation 1+1 = 2. The act of exposure is repeated every year on the 21st of December at 14:00 and it lasts 7 minutes
- In 1997 an interesting sculpture was exposed – To the Animals for Slaughter

The cache isn't located on coordiantes. It's a quick multi cache that starts next to sculpture (To the Animals for Slaughter).
In order to get the coordinates you need to:
- Count all the animals from the sculpture. The number of them is A.
- Find the butcher dwarf. B is the number of the stall that is located opposite to the dwarf.
You'll get the coordinates by doing the simple math:
N 51 06.XXX, where XXX = 690 + (10 * A)
E 17 01.YYY, where YYY = 700 + (10 * B)
The cache is hidden at the solved coordinates and it is available from the side of the pavement/road and you shouldn't enter the nearby car park.
It cointains a logbook, a pencil and certificates for the finders. Please watch out for muggles and don't log into the cache in the place you find it.
