Był to polski taternik, alpinista i himalaista, twórca oraz szef programu Polski Himalaizm Zimowy 2010–2015.

Zmarł w 2013 roku na stoku Gaszerbrum I w Karakorum.

Dosłownie kilka dni temu został ukończony poświęcony mu mural w centrum Mikołowa.
