Tram Bridge on the Ner River
In Lodz you can take train not only to ride through the city, you can take suburban train and go for a trip to another city/town near Lódz. First Lodz suburban tram lines were opened in 1901 to Pabianice and Zgierz, now you can also go to Ozorkow, Konstantynow and Lutomiersk. In the in the twentieth century trams were running to Aleksandrów, Tuszyn and Rzgow, these lines are closed now. In early But in in early twentieth century there were even plans to build a tramway to Brzeziny, Koluszki, Zdunska Wola and Piotrkow Trybunalski!
GPS will lead you near the line to Lutomiersk. Trams to Konstantynow began to run in 1911, the line was extended to Lutomiersk in 1929-1931 and initially was not operated by electric trams, but steam trams. I'ts the single track electric line with passing sidings, tram No 43 takes you to the baloon loop in Lutomiersk, it tours around the Market Square and after a short stop it goesback to Lodz. Before 1999, tram from Lodz was going to another province, because Lutomiersk was in Sieradz Voivodeship.
There's a steel bringe on the Ner Rive just before Lutomiersk... it's a tram bridge used also by pedestrians and cyclists (you can get there from nearest tram stop named Kazimierz). I have placed a magnetic geocache here.
