Until XX century Skorosze was a small, peaceful village. In 1952 Skorosze and surroundings formed Ursus municipality, incorporated into Warsaw in 1977. The chapel is probably the oldest building in the district. Some say that it was built after the battle with the Swedes in 1705 nad also that during World War II polish soldiers had their radio station in the altar. Certainly, it was raised in XVIII century. The chapel stood in the open field, now it’s surrounded by blocks and looks a bit surreal.
The chapel has a watchful guardian – an old lady who takes care of the place as it was a grave or something (but it’s not).
