Rzeźby na rynku mają symbolizować to, z czym kojarzy się Radzionków. 

Tańcząca para - dlatego, że mieszkańcy miasta chętnie ubierają stroje regionalne podczas uroczystości religijnych. Ponadto na terenie miasta działa Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Mały Śląsk, który rozsławia folklor śląski nie tylko w kraju, ale także zagranicą.

Figury zostały wykonane w bytomskiej pracowni Stalowe Figury.
