Żeby zapobiec przeistoczeniu się w wampira , Ciało takiego delikwenta należało pochować na rozstaju dróg. Wierzono iż, tak pochowany upiór nie mógł odnaleźć drogi do domu, żeby nękać swoich bliskich.
