Opis
Republic of Kampinos - in August and September 1944 Kampinos forest was a shelter for more than 2500 resistance soldiers. Operating from the villages scattered in the woods they posed a constant threat to the occupants. At that time the area was totally under the control of Polish Home Army (AK) and used to be called "Independant Republic of Kampinos"
The monument for the "Republic of Kampinos" is erected at the intersection of the trails in the beautiful forest of Kampinos. A nearby cemetery is the last resting place for 54 soldiers of the Home Army who fought and died here in 1944.
A perfect place for a long walk or a bicycle ride
