The castle: The castle belongs to the most magnificent monuments in the region. Built about 1560 in place of the old fortified manor house, the castle was largely rebuilt in the years 1872 - 1875, when it assumed its new shape designed by Zygmunt Gorgolewski and Maurycy Ouradou. Its facade is in the style of the French castles on the Loire. Many authentic architectural details purchased by Izabela Działyńska in antique shops all over Europe were used for its decoration: late gothic and renaissance fireplaces, portals, shutters, etc. The castle houses a museum, where a collection of Greek vases, works of craft, paintings and woven fabrics can be admired. At present the castle is part of the National Museum in Poznań. More information: http://www.goluchow.pl/english/index.htm
