Description
In 1972 the previous division of rural areas into " gromady " was abolished and the municipal offices covering a larger area were introduced. They were directed by the municipal authorities. As a result of those transformations the boundaries of administrative units changed. The Town and Municipal Hall of Kowal was established and it covered the town and the community of Kowal including the current Baruchowo community. The division lasted until 1990. On January 1,1991 there was a division between the town of Kowal and the community of Kowal into two separate administrative units. The new Town Hall of Kowal and The Municipal office were established. The new administrative division of the country on January 1, 1999 led to the creation of " voivodeship" therefore Kujawskie voivodeship was liquidated.
