Description
Polish courts are a phenomenon on a European scale. Certainly it can be regarded as polish national product. Inspired by the architecture of ancient Greece were not only the houses of the nobility, but also centers of patriotism and Polishness. Usually with one storey, wooden (later brick) - had porch with columns and a tympanum on the front side. All roofs were covered with thatch or shingles, later also with ceramic tile. The size of the court depended on the wealth of the owner. Only very few have survived till today.
Manor House in the village Sokule was built in the first half of the XVIII century. In the XIX century it belonged to the Lubienski, later to Sobanski family. Since 1930 in the hands of Joseph Gutkowski. In 1988, his daughter sold the house to George Petelicki. House had a newer annexes on the east porch and outpost in the front elevation. Annexes have been removed and were replaced by portico with Tuscan columns.
Manor House is known from polish series: "Ranch"(2007) and "Night and the days"(1975).
It's private public, but you can look at it standing behind the fence. edit: In the village could see an old cottage, thatched. Unfortunately, it was only after lots of photos. On the way to Antoniew there's a small chapel from XIX century.
Geocache is located a little farther, in a clump of trees.
