Charakterystycznym punktem Opatowca jest budynek ochotniczej straży pożarnej. Szczególnie rzuca się w oczy bardzo fotogeniczna  wieża hejnałowo - zegarowa, oraz data utworzenia straży w tym najmniejszym polskim mieście - rok 1888.
