Budynek w stylu wczesnego modernizmu wybudowany w 1912 roku przez Zarząd Dóbr Ballestremów, jako część osiedla robotniczego, z przeznaczeniem na cele edukacyjne. Od 1990 roku siedziba Muzeum Miejskiego w Rudzie Śląskiej.
