Road-block between Dolni Morava and Thanndorf
On the place I guide you, rests under forest road another concrete witness of recent history: rolled out protective walls for the special design boundary steel bar called Ippen. It was built in 1938 on what used to be boundary with then aggresive Germany. Manned by Customs officers, later reinforced by army's boundary protection troops, who protected border from Freikorps smuggling weapons and ammunition.
During Czechoslovakian preparations before WWII not as read above not only bunkers were built, also much simpler objects, whose purpose in general was to slow the enemy's advance. For example at the nearby border crossing - now with Polish village Jodłowa - used to be three-row enclosure from the rails simply put in concrete.
How to get there?
The easiest access is from parking lot given in waypoints by the red-blazed hiking trail straight up the hill, after coming on the road, go approximately 100 meters to the right. You may ride a bike to the cache location, but definitely use allowed routes, do not ride on forest hiking trails!
Cache is 600 ml Lock'n'Lock in black bag of non-woven textile. In the beginning it contains logbook, two pencils and five pieces of Czech Wood Geocoin - local signature item.
