Summer 1965. Janusz Laskowski was less than 20 years old. Beata was his holiday love ... It was the music hit that has been humming all over Poland for almost half a century. A sad song about a mysterious seventeen-year-old girl from the restaurant "Albatros" is still singing at weddings, feasts and family gatherings. After "Hej Sokoły" and "Cyganie" it is one of our "national" songs. To this day, everyone is wondering who Beata was. And does she even know that this song is about her. The author of the text has never reveal the secret.
