Wieża kontroli ruchu lotniczego – integralna część lotniska.
Jest to specjalny wysoki oszklony budynek (zazwyczaj oszklony na okrągło co zapewnia dobrą widoczność całego lotniska i podejść), lub wywyższony oszklony fragment budynku (na mniejszych lotniskach), z którego odbywa się kontrola ruchu lotniczego na polu manewrowym lotniska (na powierzchni lotniska) i w otaczającym lotnisko obszarze.
Małe lotniska mogą mieć tylko jednego kontrolera ruchu lotniczego i ich wieże nie są czynne 24 godziny na dobę. Większe lotniska natomiast mają kilku kontrolerów jak i obsługę techniczną i pomocniczą, a ich wieże są czynne 24 godziny na dobę, 365 dni w roku.
Air traffic control tower - an integral part of the airport. This is a special high glazed building ( usually glazed over and over again to ensure good visibility of the whole airport, and approaches ) , or exalted glazed fragment of the building ( the smaller airports ) , from which the air traffic control on the maneuvering area airports (for airport surface ) and in the surrounding airport area. Small airports may have only one air traffic controller and their towers are not open 24 hours a day . Larger airports other hand, have several controllers and maintenance and assistance , and their towers are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
