Uliczka nosi imię kapitana samolotu Ił-62 "Mikołaj Kopernik", który 14 marca 1980 r. rozbił się na terenie fortu. W katastrofie zginęło 77 pasażerów i 10 członków załogi. Tablica poświęcona tej tragedii znajduje się na końcu uliczki, po lewej stronie.

Summary in English
The street bears the name of the capitan of Ił-62 plane "Mikołaj Kopernik" that crashed in the area of Fort VI (14 March 1980). All 77 passengers and 10 crew members were killed in the crash. The small plaque can be found at the end of the street on the gate.
