O miejscu:
Dawny basen na lubańskich Księginkach z powodzeniem funkcjonował do wczesnych lat 50 XX w. Był atrakcyjnym, dużym obiektem poniemieckim o charakterze wypoczynkowym i rekreacyjnym, który powstał w latach 20 XX w. Później został zamknięty i stał się własnością ówczesnych Kopalni Skalnych Surowców Drogowych w Lubaniu. W latach gierkowskiej prosperity, kopalnia zdecydowała o kapitalnym remoncie obiektu. Został on zmodernizowany i oddany do użytku pracowników kamieniołomów oraz mieszkańców Księginek, ale tylko na chwilę. Okazało się bowiem, że obiekt rekreacyjno – wypoczynkowy nad wodą nie może funkcjonować w sąsiedztwie linii wysokiego napięcia i ostatecznie został on przez przedsiębiorstwo zamknięty. Choć w latach 80-tych służył jeszcze mieszkańcom dzielnicy za nieoficjalne miejsce odpoczynku, to już nigdy blasku nie odzyskał. Dzisiaj wygląda fatalnie, choć pewien urok, zwłaszcza dla starszych osób które dobrze pamiętają to miejsce, jednak pozostał.

About the place:
The former swimming pool in Księginki, Lubań, operated successfully until the early 1950s. It was an attractive, large post-German facility for relaxation and recreation, which was built in the 1920s. It was later closed and became the property of the then Road Rock Mines in Lubań. During the years of Gierek's prosperity, the mine decided to completely renovate the facility. It was modernized and put into use by quarry workers and the inhabitants of Księginki, but only for a while. It turned out that the recreational and recreation facility by the water could not operate in the vicinity of high-voltage lines and was ultimately closed by the company. Although in the 1980s it still served the district's residents as an unofficial place of rest, it never regained its former glory. Today it looks terrible, although a certain charm, especially for older people who remember this place well, remains.
