Góry Stołowe (the Table Mountains) - a land born of the sea, millions of years ago ... is one of the most beautiful and attractive mountain ranges in Poland, a unique place due to its terrain, beautiful rock formations, unique “rock cities”, labyrinths and peculiar forms called rock fungi. Outstanding natural and landscape values are reasons that the National Park of the Table Mountains has been established here in 1993.
Szczeliniec Wielki is a natural and tourist phenomenon. Visible from afar, a powerful platform of the mountain ridge, it charms with a “rocky city”, a historic mountain shelter, but above all with fantastic rock formations and panoramas. From Szczeliniec there are unforgettable views of the mountains and valleys of the Sudetes, around the world. This is a unique place - visit, enjoy the mountains, collect caches; but do not destroy, do not litter - let's preserve this beauty for the next generations.

The Mountain Spirit inhabits the furthest and loneliest parts of his land. Near his magnificent castle among the rocks he has a quiet little garden where he grows his favourite plant – turnips. He loves to feast on this vegetable. By nature the King of the Mountains is very suspicious and distrustful so he visits his garden every day to count the turnips and check if any were stolen. Hence one of his names – Liczyrzepa, Turnip Counter. One day the Mountain Spirit was traveling around his lands when he saw a most beautiful young maiden – a princess called Emilia. He fell in love and asked for her hand immediately. Unfortunately the princess was scared with the perspective of living among the rocky mountains and so she didn’t agree to marry Liczyrzepa. This angered the Mountain Spirit and he imprisoned the girl in the gloomy dungeons of a rock labyrinth called Szczeliniec. However, he loved her still and he tried to change the attitude of her heart at all costs. From the furthest corners of his kingdom he brought most wonderful gfts, he even organized a wonderful feast in the rooms of Szczeliniec; but the princess's heart was as cold and hard as a stone. |

Soon another suitor appeared, and he came from a far away land. A Negro prince came with his host riding camels and elephants. When he saw a beautiful princess in distress he fell in love with her at first sight, and beautiful Emilia returned the feeling. The black prince decided to free the unfortunate girl from the terrible prison. Dark skinned warriors on their exotic beasts tried to conquer the rocky fortress, but nobody can defeat the Mountain Spirit in his own kingdom. In terrible rage he used his secret powers and turned the whole army into stone. So event today you can still see around you fantastic rock formations resembling elephants and camels. There’s even Emilia’s heart, that turned to stone in grief at the horrible sight... |

About the cache: The cache is hidden along the! It is NOT possible to reach this cache from a different direction but from the trail. The whole loop of the Szczeliniec and the rock labyrinth trail is about 3.5 km long.
Act carefully so that you take no risk. You do not have to go on rocks or climb anything! Take care of passers-by so as not to disclose the cache location to Mugglers. Finally, put it back, in exactly the same place, please. "Invisibility" at the highest level!
The all of nature, specific landscape features and national heritage objects are protected in the area of the National Park. The task of the National Park is not only to protect this particular landscape, but also to make it available for visitors. However, you neet to remember about certain rules:
