Rozlewisko jest antropogeniczne. W średniowieczu zakonnicy z Rogowa lub Mogilna wybudowali tamę i postawili młyn wodny. Dziś stanowi mieszkanie dla wielu gatunków ptaków wodnych. Często spotykam łabędzie nieme.
