Church of Sts. Wojciech
According to tradition, founded in 1228 by Clement of Brzeźnica of the Griffin family and his wife Racław whose daughter became the first abbess Wisenna order. Expanded in the years 1619 to 1649 , the monastery was seriously damaged during the Swedish invasion and later , during the north war .Building of church was completed in 1238. It is one of the oldest Gothic churches in Poland , and the oldest type of hall . An interesting fact is that the builders are known by name ( Wierzbięta and Jasko ) , which was rare at that time . The design of short , three-span nave from the chancel dwuprzęsłowym , in the seventeenth century . Rebuilt in Baroque style. The most important works of art in the church are statues of Madonnas from the fourteenth century . , A statue of Christ the Man of Sorrows from the sixteenth century . From the workshop of Veit Stoss and the image of Our Lady of Sorrows from the sixteenth century .; monastery has a museum and library , and in them a rich collection of liturgical , books (including old prints ) , manuscripts ( or music ) and documents (including the papal bulls of the thirteenth century . ) .
The monastery was damaged during operations in November 1914 - a specific reminder of artillery shells are driven into the north wall of the church.
