Treasures of the Triangle: Miernicza Street – Faminka
Miernicza Street is one of the few streets of Wroclaw, which in the entire length have a tenements builded before World War II. Street was designed in the early 80s the nineteenth century. The street was named Lützowstraße in honor of her Baron Ludwig von Lützow - organizer and commander of volunteer corps in the war against Napoleon.
Tenement have been settled by the workers of nearby factories which was located along Oława river on Klosterstraße (Traugutt Street). In these buildings lived also officials of lower category and artisans conduct workshops on the ground floors of houses
Ciekawostki: Ze względu na swój unikatowy charakter i stan ulica Miernicza często służy filmowcom jako plan akcji do filmów przedstawiających miasta sprzed kilkudziesięciu lat i z II połowy XIX w. Imitowała m.in. Warszawę, Berlin, Wiedeń, Rotterdam i wojenny i przedwojenny Wrocław.
Due to the unique character of Miernicza Street filmmakers are often using it as place for action movies illustrating the cities several decades ago. This street imitated old Warsaw, Berlin, Vienna, Rotterdam and pre-war Wroclaw.
Lech Janerka sang about the streets of Bermuda Triangle: Beware of these places.
