Description EN PL

"10 different farmsteads from the Olesno, Opole, and Nysa regions have been relocated on the grounds of the Museum.  A majority of the buildings display a log construction framework, however, the farmstead from the Nysa region showcases the post and beam method of construction.  In addition to the farmsteads there are many other types of public use buildings situated on the grounds of the Museum, including, a church, school, tower, tavern, as well as some freestanding houses, a blacksmith’s workshop, chapels, and two windmills.  A network of paths and trails, which the visitor can use to walk from one building to another, connects all of the farmsteads and other structures.  The Museum grounds are peppered with many trees and bushes, which have been carefully landscaped and serve to complete the exhibition by underscoring its naturalness and authenticity.  Vegetable and flower gardens enclosed by rail and picket fences have been recreated on the farmsteads’ premises.  Traditional plants, such as flax, parsnip, millet, and buckwheat are grown in the fields."
